In the San Francisco neighborhood of Ibagué, it was possible for the soldiers of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Tolima, of the Sixth Brigade of the National Army, to arrest a man who, through the uncle or aunt modality, extorted the citizens’ money.
The individual used the modality of false relative, one of his victims being a 61-year-old woman, a resident of the north of Tolima, by November 2013, would have send him $1 million COP, allegedly to prevent a, supposed, nephew from being, presumably, prosecuted.
Thanks to this and other denunciations about the same modality, the man was arrested and put into custody of the 18th sectional Prosecutor's Office of the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) unit.
It is worth remembering that the uncle or aunt modality is this modus operandi in which individuals deceive their victims by telling them that their relatives are going to be arrested and they need money.
