Troops of the National Army, in coordination with the National Police, arrested alias Piota, who appeared in the most wanted list in the department of Valle del Cauca. The operation was possible in compliance with a search warrant in a residential area of Buenaventura.
This individual is accused of being the ringleader of the Organized Crime Group (GDO) La Local, which commits crimes in the 9th and 19th localities of Buenaventura. In addition, he would be primarily responsible for criminal activities related to extortion, drug trafficking, forced displacement, homicides and personal injuries.
At the time of the arrest, alias Piota had with him a firearm, ammunition and communications equipment, which were put into custody of the s authorities.
Alias Piota was wanted by an arrest warrant for the crimes of aggravated homicide in heterogeneous condition with the manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.
This result will significantly hit this criminal structure that threatens the tranquility of the Buenaventura district, in the department of Valle del Cauca. The National Army continues to conduct operations to dismantle the different organized armed groups that commit crimes.
