With activities of Comprehensive Action, recreation, sports and humanitarian demining, the National Army arrives in the village of San José de Apartadó, one of the rural areas hardest hit by the armed conflict during the last 10 years, in the subregion of the Urabá Antioqueño.
For more than four hours our soldiers of the National Army, with young people, adults and women, carried out adaptation works on the entrance road to the urban area of the village of San José de Apartadó, an obligatory route for the peasants of the villages La unión, El Porvenir, Arenas Altas and El Cuchillo, in order to move to the municipality of Apartadó and market subsistence products.
It is for this reason that the soldiers, together with the community, with shovels, pikes and buckets, made the improvement of 300 meters of one of the most important tertiary roads in the village of San José of the department of Antioquia, where more than 2,000 people of the region travel.
The National Army, through the Engineering Command, coordinates the execution of projects that generate social impact and lead to meet the consolidation objectives and thus benefit the communities in vulnerable areas of the country.
“We thank the work that is being done with the different Community operation Boards and the Humanitarian Demining of the National Army, that was one of the ideas, to integrate the institutions and the community,” says Jairo Usura, president of the Community operation Board of the La Unión village.
This operation led to transforming the life of this community, who find in the soldiers of the National Army constant support, charting new horizons of development, peace and tranquility in this region of Urabá.
