The packages were covered with mayonnaise and inside doors lined with black plastic, the criminals intended to send them as courier from the department of Valle del Cauca to La Guajira.
Troops of the Eighth Brigade of the National Army and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Caldas Sectional Prosecutor's Office, through investigations, managed to find 52 kilos of creepy marijuana that individuals intended to transport in 99 packages hidden inside eight doors.
Through intelligence work that has been being carried out against organized crime groups, soldiers of Infantry Battalion No.22 Batalla de Ayacucho and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps), arrived at a courier company based in the city of Yumbo, Valle del Cauca, to verify a cargo that, apparently, was contaminated with narcotics.
When carrying out the respective search, eight rectangular packages wrapped in black plastic were found. when unwrapping them, troops found wooden doors which had inside 99 black packages covered with a substance with the smell of mayonnaise, however, the excellent operation of the dogs led to identify that they contained hallucinogens.
The marijuana that, according to human information, was being transported from the department of Cauca towards Maicao, La Guajira, to be later sent out of the country, belonged to the Organized Crime Group, Olimpo, at the service of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Dagoberto Ramos and would be valued at more than 64 million pesos (about USD 15,000). The material was put into custody of the authorities.
In this way, with daily, joint, coordinated and inter-institutional tasks of the Eighth Brigade it was possible to hit the financial system of criminal groups again and neutralize the distribution of narcotics.
