Some of the collected materials will be used to make artworks with the community.
Within the framework of the Amazon Plan, through a joint and inter-institutional work, the National Army, the Colombian Navy, the Police, the Mayor's Office of Necoclí, Futuraseo, Corpourabá, Firefighters and the community, carried out the environmental activity I take care of my beach in the municipality of Necoclí, in the department of Antioquia.
More than two tons of usable and non-usable solid waste, such as plastic, polystyrene, cans, wood and glass, among other elements, was collected in order to have a clean and safe space for locals and tourists, as well as for the specimens that inhabit the ecosystem.
It should be noted that the material that was collected on these beaches is to build works of art.
Thanks to the positive response and effort of the institutions and people in general, it is possible to collect solid waste not typical of the coastal environment; additionally, this type of activities leads to contribute to the care of the environment with cleaning activities, awareness and organization.
