So far this year, 13,672 inhabitants in the Colombian Pacific have been benefited through these activities.
During the activity, donations were distributed and pets were sterilized.
The Colombian Navy, in coordination with municipal government institutions and different foundations, carried out a Development Support Activity in which specialized medical assistance was provided, medicines and donations were distributed, pet sterilization was conducted and recreational activities were carried out for 1,257 people, in the village of Jurubirá, department of Chocó.
After sailing 167 nautical miles from the Naval Base ARC Málaga, the Oceanic Ship ARC 7 de agosto, arrived in Jurubirá with 40 volunteers and Sailors from Colombia on board, to contribute to the well-being and quality of life of the inhabitants in this area of the country. Care was provided in general medicine and in specialties such as dentistry, psychology, optometry, pediatrics, speech therapy, ophthalmology, subdermal birth control implants and dental care.
In the same way, the sterilization of cats and dogs was carried out, as well as recreational activities and distribution of school kits, clothing and Bienestarina (food supplement).
This activity was led by the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.23 of Buenaventura - Valle del Cauca and had the participation of the Nuquí Mayor's Office, Andrés Bedoya Foundation, Re-Vida Foundation, Colombia Solidarity Foundation, San Luis Life Foundation, Solidarity Foundation, Institute for Blind and Deaf Children and the Ventura Group.
