During this activity, 14 wheelchairs were donated, more than 60 dental prostheses were made and 122 mammograms were conducted.
The Colombian Navy, jointly with Colombian National Army and the Colombian Air Force and in coordination with public and private institutions, carried out a Development Support Activity on the island of San Andrés, in order to bring health and well-being to the raizal and resident inhabitants that converge in the territory.
With the support of more than 90 health professionals and volunteers who arrived on the island to provide free medical assistance to children, young people and adults, 2,665 medical check-ups were carried out during two days in specialties such as: maxillofacial surgery, dermatology, mastology, nutrition, dentistry, optometry, pediatrics and oral rehabilitation, among others.
In the same way, beauty and personal care services were provided and medicines, backpacks, toiletries, oral hygiene kits and clothing were donated to dozens of families, as well as a mobile planetarium.
For its part, the Minuto de Dios Corporation distributed 14 wheelchairs to inhabitants of the island who had difficulty in their mobility and the Praccso Foundation, made dental prostheses to more than 60 people.
This coordinated work was led by the Colombian Military Forces and had the support of the Eleganza Beauty Academy, Colgate, Corporación Minuto de Dios, Droguerías Colsubsidio, Empresas Sociales del Estado - E.S.E Departamental, San Luis Life Foundation, Optometrists for Colombia, Palmolive, Payativos Humanitarios, Andromeda Planetarium, National Police, Professional Officers of the Reserve, Caritas Alegres program, Quiasmo IPS, Totto and the Nueva Granada Military University.
