This drug was hidden in a vehicle that had been abandoned by its occupants, as a result of pressure exerted by the National Army troops that were in the sector.
In the course of territorial control operations, troops of the National Army, in coordination with the National Police, found in the Upper Guajira region a vehicle that hid more than half a ton of cocaine hydrochloride, which would belong to the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.
Through intelligence work it was possible to find this vehicle, abandoned on the access road to the municipality of Uribia, in Alta Guajira. At the scene, soldiers of the Medium Armored Cavalry Group General Gustavo Matamoros DCosta found about 658 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, distributed in packages.
Reportedly, this drug, which would be sent out of the country, would belong to alias YY, accused of being the urban ringleader of the GAO Clan del Golfo, who would be in charge of the commercialization of narcotics in the area.
The material found was given to the authorities to carry out the pertinent investigation tasks.
