Within the framework of the Unified action of the State, the Colombian Navy, in coordination with different government authorities and foundations, carried out a Development Support Activity in the Limones village, in the municipality of Guapi - Cauca, in which five tons of humanitarian aid were distributed.
On board the landing ship ARC Golfo de Tribugá, the Colombian Navy transferred from the port of Buenaventura to the Limones village, on the banks of the Guapi River, more than five tons of donations consisting of liquid Bienestarina (food supplement), clothing, drinks, presents, dog food, among others, as well as health professionals and personnel of the different institutions and foundations that joined the activity.
The activity benefited 1,750 people, who received medical assistance from 55 health professionals, who provided care in general medicine, dentistry, cytology, dermatology, psychology, subdermal implants, distribution of medicines and oral hygiene kits for minors. Additionally, recreational activities were carried out for children and adolescents, generating protective environments and safe spaces for participation, expression and development, for these vulnerable villages.
This activity was possible, thanks to the coordination conducted by the Colombian Navy through the Navy Infantry River Battalion No. 42, with the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing - ICBF, the Ombudsman's Office, the Mayor's Office of Guapi, the Governor's Office of Cauca and the Valle del Lili foundations, Brigada Ángeles por Colombia, Misión País, Cambiando al Mundo, Abrazos del Alma, Red Viva, Alianza Solidaria, Colombia Solidaria and the Food Bank, which joined together to reach these people of the Colombian Pacific.
