Six Colombians, two Hondurans and two Nicaraguans were put into custody of the authorities.
These results prevented the distribution of 6.4 million doses of narcotics on the streets of the world.
In the framework of maritime interception operations, the Colombian Navy with the support of the Colombian Air Force, seized more than 3.7 tons of drugs in the Colombian Caribbean. The illegal merchandise, with a cost of more than 91 million dollars, was planned to be sold on the illegal market in the United States.
In the first operation, a Rapid Reaction Unit - URR of the Coast Guard, with the support of a Colombian Air Force aircraft, detected a Go Fast type boat manned by six individuals, four Colombians and two Hondurans, 49 nautical miles from Cartagena, who were transporting 2,395 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and which was heading towards Central America.
During the second operation, carried out 40 nautical miles from Galerazamba - Bol铆var, Coast Guard units intercepted a boat manned by four individuals, two Colombians and two Nicaraguans, who were transporting 95 kilograms of cocaine and 1,229 kilograms of marijuana.
The personnel and material found in both operations were taken to a safe port. Already on land, officials of the Technical Investigation Corps - CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office, carried out the Homologated Preliminary Identification Test - PIPH on the shipments, confirming that they were narcotics. In the same way, the ten arrested individuals were put into custody of the authority.
Thanks to the powerful operation of the Naval Institution, more than 6.4 million doses of illicit substances stopped being marketed on the streets of the world.
