Within the framework of a river control and security operation carried out by the Colombian Navy, in a joint work with Colombian National Army, a boat manned by two individuals carrying 33 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 744 kilograms of marijuana was found.
Troops of the Navy Infantry Brigade No. 2 arrived at Bocas de Ají on the Naya River, in the Special District of Buenaventura -Valle del Cauca, where they found a boat that had been wrecked and around it they found floating 32 sacks, apparently with narcotic substances.
In the vicinity of the boat, there were two individuals of Costa Rican nationality who would be the owners of that drug, so they were transported along with the material to Buenaventura.
Once on the ground, the Technical Investigation Staff – CTI (Technical Investigations Corps)- of the Attorney General's Office conducted the Approved Preliminary Identification Test to the substance contained in the packages, which left positive for 33 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 744 kilograms of marijuana.
The two arrested individuals, the material found and the boat, were put into custody of the Prosecutor's Office No. 49 specialized of the municipality of Bugalagrande - Valle del Cauca, for prosecution, for the alleged crimes of trafficking, manufacture and/or carrying of narcotics.
With this finding, about six million dollars stopped entering the finances of organizations of drug trafficking. In the same way, the commercialization of more than 200 thousand doses of drugs on the streets of the world was prevented.
