With this result, the commercialization of more than 150 thousand doses of the drug on the streets of the world was prevented.
As part of an operation against drug trafficking and related crimes, Coast Guard units of the Colombian Navy found an illegal cargo of 61 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, which was hidden in a high-speed boat anchored near Puerto Bolívar - Department of La Guajira.
The operation began after receiving an alert call of the cargo ship, in which they reported having discovered three unknown black suitcases hidden in a compartment of the boat. Immediately, a Rapid Reaction Unit – URR, of the Coast Guard Station of Santa Marta was sent in order to provide support in the alert.
During the investigation procedure, 61 rectangular packages were found by troops inside the suitcases, which were taken to a safe port, where the judicial authorities conducted the Approved Preliminary Identification Test, determining that it was 61 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
With this result, more than two million dollars are stopped from entering the criminal organizations at the service of drug trafficking. The material found was put into custody of the authority, no arrests were made during the operation.
