The unified operation led by the Military Forces, within the framework of the Perseo Plan, the Mayor's Office of Istmina and the Equipo Solidario Colombia Foundation, join efforts for the most vulnerable communities in this part of the country.
More than 5,000 people actively participated in a development support activity called by the National Army, in coordination with municipal authorities; thus wellbeing and health were brought to the municipality of Istmina.
In this activity led by the Joint Task Force Titan, with its ground component, the Fifteenth Brigade and its Ground Operations Battalion No.26, the Government of the department of Choc贸, the Colombian Air Force, the National Navy, the Mayor's Office of Istmina, Diocese Pastoral de Quibd贸, Food Bank of Cali, Supergiros and the Equipo Solidario Colombia Foundation, arrived at the San Pablo School to provide wellbeing and assistance to the most vulnerable communities in this area of the country.
This work, framed in the efforts of Comprehensive Action, had the support of 36 doctors of different specialties, including professionals of general medicine, pediatrics, ophthalmology, among others who were at the service of the inhabitants of this municipality, in the same way stand out hairdressing services, occupational therapy and other service options that the inhabitants required.
Thanks to the inter-institutional work, more than 1,000 school kits, 1,000 food baskets and 700 presents were distributed during this activity, whose purpose is to meet basic needs.
Recreational and cultural activities were in the same way carried out with the children and adolescents attending the activity, with balloon flexing, face painting, inflatables, trampolines and, at the end, a cinema to the park, which served for the families to join in a fraternal way with the soldiers and support the Military Forces
These operations were guided by the soldiers of the Comprehensive Action Battalion No.7, who ended the day by receiving the smiles and applause of the attendees.
This inter-institutional work contributed to the consolidation of the territory, as well as alleviating some of the most felt needs of this municipality, and, in turn, to highlight the importance of inter-institutional coordination, to improve the quality of life of our citizens and stimulate progress in the department.
