As part of river search and control operations, Colombian Navy troops have found 46,952 gallons of liquid supplies on the Atrato River in the departments of Antioquia and Chocó.
Thanks to the operational firmness on the part of the troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.16, it was possible to find 26,486 gallons of DIESEL, 20,386 gallons of gasoline and 80 gallons of ammonia, which were transported in boats, without having the certificate for handling controlled chemical substances, so it is presumed they would be used in illegal activities.
These confiscations were held in areas near the municipalities of Vigía del Fuerte (Antioquia) and in El Carmen del Darién, Riosucio and Quibdó in the department of Chocó.
The substances were put into custody of the authorities.
