The beaches of Punta Arena on the island of Tierra Bomba, approximately 10 minutes by sea from Cartagena, was the chosen place to carry out a cleaning and waste collection activity, which coordinated the work of more than 150 volunteers including members of the community, foundations of several companies, divers of the Colombian Navy and Cadets of the United States Military Forces.
In total, more than 15 public and private organizations made it possible to collect approximately 40 tons of waste that polluted the beaches and the seabed of this important tourist destination in the insular area of Cartagena and that during this time of year becomes the choice of both national and foreign visitors.
With more than 150 volunteers including members of the community, foundations of several companies, divers of the Colombian Navy and Cadets of the United States Military Forces.
These activities, which contribute directly to the comprehensive development of the island, reaffirm the commitment of the Colombian Navy to the protection of the environment and to the promotion of activities for its conservation, as well as to the generation of spaces that led communities through tourism-related ventures, seeking to improve the quality of life of the communities.
