The unified operation led by the Military Forces, within the framework of the Perseo Plan, the United States Mission, the Ministry of National Defense, the Municipalities of Novita and San Miguel and the Foundation Corazón y Acción por Colombia join efforts for the most vulnerable communities in this part of the country.
About three thousand people actively participated in a development support activity by the National Army, in coordination with municipal authorities, to provide wellbeing and health in the municipalities of San Miguel and Novita, in the department of Chocó.
In two simultaneous activities of the Joint Task Force Titan, with its ground component, the Fifteenth Brigade and its Ground Operations Battalions No. 25 and No.26, the Government of the department of Chocó, the Colombian Air Force, the National Navy, the National Police and the Foundation Corazón y Acción, it was possible to bring wellbeing and assistance to the most vulnerable communities through development support activities.
This work, framed in the efforts of Comprehensive Action, had the support of 39 doctors of different specialties, such as general medicine, pediatrics, ophthalmology and others who were at the service of the inhabitants of these municipalities, in the same way services such as hairdressing, occupational therapy and other service options that were required in this part of the country were provided.
Thanks to the inter-institutional work, more than 600 school kits, 200 food baskets, 50 presents and 400 snacks were distributed during the two development support activities that were carried out simultaneously, with the purpose of meet some unmet basic needs of the region.
In the same way, recreational and cultural activities were carried out with the children and adolescents, conducting balloon twisting, face painting, inflatables, trampolines and, at the end of the activity, the cinema to the park, which served for the families to join in a fraternal way. These resources were used by the soldiers of the Comprehensive Action Battalion No.7; the activities ended amid smiles and applause of the attendees.
This inter-institutional work contributed to the consolidation of the territory, as well as to alleviate some of the most felt needs of the municipalities of San Miguel and Novita, in the department of Chocó, and in turn highlight the importance of inter-institutional coordination, which leads to contribute to the quality of life of our citizens and stimulate progress in the department.
