This finding prevents the income of more than $ 44 million to the finances of the residual organized armed group, residual GAO, and the worldwide consumption of 2,790,500 million doses of cocaine and marijuana was prevented.
The Colombian Navy continues to deal decisive blows to the illicit finances of the residual organized armed group, GAO-r, in the Colombian Pacific, this time during two maritime interception operations carried out by Coast Guard units, it was possible to find more than 2.7 tons of cocaine and marijuana, when several individuals intended to transport it in boats to collection points in Central America.
The first operation was reported late at night, when a Rapid Reaction Unit of the Buenaventura Coast Guard station, commanded by a female officer, carried out patrols, security and control of the sea, and detected the suspicious movement of a lobster ship, manned by three men who tried to evade maritime controls; they escaped. After several minutes of pursuit under difficult visibility conditions, the boat was stopped in the sector of Punta Aj铆, Valle del Cauca.
During the inspection of the ship, military personnel found communication equipment, 770 gallons of fuel and 34 bags of different colors, similar to those used by organized armed groups for illegal narcotics trafficking, containing rectangular packages with 1,000 kilograms of cocaine.
The high degree of training and preparation of this crew led it, hours later to deal a second blow, 2.8 nautical miles of the mouth of El Ajicito, where several individuals were detected with two suspicious boats who, noticing the work of the Coast Guard unit, fled in one of the boats, leaving the second boat loaded with 1,750 kilograms of marijuana, 880 gallons of fuel and communication equipment.
According to intelligence information, the two shipments totalize 2,750 kilograms of narcotics belonging to FARC dissidents, who commit crimes in the Colombian Pacific; with their finding, the Colombian Navy prevented the consumption of 2,790,500 doses of narcotics and the income of more than 44 million dollars.
The two arrested men, a Colombian and an Ecuadorian, were put into custody of the technical body of the prosecutor's office and will be responsible for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.
