For two days, the people of the border area between Colombia and Panama enjoyed health, recreation and wellness activities led by soldiers of the National Army.
Through an inter-institutional effort of the State, the inhabitants of Necoclí, Antioquia, benefited of the first health and services activity that provided them with medical assistance in different specialties, recreation for children and adolescents, services and counseling.
This activity was carried out thanks to the work of unified operation conducted by the Colombian Military Forces, through the National Army, with the resources of the Seventeenth Brigade and the Comprehensive Action Command, the Colombian Air Force in coordination with the United States Embassy, the Government of Antioquia, the mayor's office of the municipality and the Santa Alianza Bogotá Foundation.
For two days, at the San Sebastian Hospital, on the outskirts of the municipality, medical equipment was installed for the provision of general medicine, psychology, dentistry, optometry, cytology, pediatrics, pharmacy and social work services. In total, two thousand medical treatments were carried out accompanied by the free of charge distribution of medicines, since more than a ton of them were sent to provide a complete service to the inhabitants.
In the same way, advisory services were provided in legal, childhood and adolescence, family, agriculture, human rights and people's representative for human rights, older adults, agriculture, definition of the military situation and recreation for children and older adults, who were given with school kits that complemented the comprehensive care activity, forging the bonds of fraternity with the institutions and the beneficiaries, those who with big smiles thanked this coordination work that provided a whole priority assistance services for these border people.
“Services like these I had never had the opportunity to participate, there were many and for all the inhabitants of Necoclí, I really thank the National Army and all the institutions that made this activity possible” said Ana María Padrón Montes, inhabitant of Necoclí.
