More than 2,100 units of security Forces will strengthen citizen security and guarantee the tranquility of the people of Cali, as reported by the Minister of Defense, Diego Molano, at the Unified Command Post presided over in the facilities of the Direction of the National Police.
"Given the acts of vandalism reported in Cali, we have made several decisions, yesterday 800 additional police units and 300 men of the military forces were arranged, however, taking into account that today these criminal activities continue in certain parts of the city and according to the agreement with the governor, it has been arranged that from last night, 700 additional police units, including several sections of the Esmad, and 300 more police units will strengthen security," said the Minister.
He in the same way informed that tonight he will travel to Cali together with the high military and police commanders with the purpose of forming a working group coordinated with the regional authorities, and in this way join efforts to ensure that tranquility and Security return to the different points of the city.
“The inhabitants of Cali and the department of Valle can be certain that all the members of the military and Police High Command will be there to guarantee and support the operation plan that is required to restore tranquility in the city," Molano said.
Finally, the head of the ministry called on all citizens not to attend the disinformation campaigns that only seek to generate anxiety among citizens.
"Today there are disinformation campaigns on social networks that seek to generate panic and therefore it is necessary to maintain tranquility, people must know that the Military Forces are here, that the police are acting on all fronts and in all parts of the city," he said.
