The Colombian Navy and the Colombian Air Force provided aircraft, ships and human talent for this humanitarian activity.
Continuing with the inter-institutional commitment to strengthen the comprehensive well-being of the inhabitants of the Archipelago, a Development Support Activity was carried out in which more than 1,639 people benefited thanks to the joint effort conducted by the Colombian Navy, the Colombian Air Force, the municipal Mayor's Office and different foundations.
The attendees of this humanitarian support activity, whose purpose was to bring the Unified services of the State to these people prioritized by the National Government, receive free medical assistance services with specialists in speech therapy, internal medicine, dentistry, psychology, pediatrics, urology, among other branches of medicine.
The civil and military authorities accompanied this activity, carried out in the schools Colegio María Inmaculada and Institución Educativa Junín in the Pueblo Viejo sector, where additionally free of charge medicines and toilet kits were distributed, and children, young people and adolescents enjoyed recreational activities and cinema under the stars.
“What they do is very good, the assistance that all the foundations are giving us. Thank you very much to the Colombian Navy and Air Force for taking us into account, it's something we really need and a lot has been given to us,” said one of the beneficiaries of the activity.
This Development Support Activity was made possible thanks to the coordinated work conducted by the Colombian Navy, the Colombian Air Force through the Caribbean Air Group - GACAR, the Mayor's Office of Providence, Professional Officers of the Naval Reserve and the Colombian Air Force, the Juan N. Corpas foundations, Optómetras por Colombia, Amigos con Misión, Fuerza Colombia, Entre Amigos Cine, COLSUBSIDIO, Totto, Colgate and Minuto de Dios Foundation.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan, the Military Forces, through the Specific Command of San Andrés and Providencia and the Caribbean Air Group, will continue to participate in activities that contribute to the well-being of the communities of the Archipelago department, in order to strengthen the consolidation and development of the territory, within the framework of the Unified services of the State.
