In the Council of Black Communities of the village of Rocha - Bolívar, on the banks of the Canal del Dique, members of the Military Forces of the Colombian Navy accompanied by the public and private sector carried out a humanitarian assistance activity in which more than 1,500 people benefited with specialized medical assistance and recreation activities.
On this occasion, troops of the Navy Infantry Battalion No.12 in coordination with the participating organizations, distributed more than two thousand units of Bienestarine (food supplement) powder, 177 food baskets with basic products of the family basket, 1,800 units of multivitamin for pregnant women, 16 personal grooming kits, four meeting chairs and clothing.
During the activity, the inhabitants of this area had access to health services in general medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, optometry, dentistry, vaccination and diagnostic images, including breast cancer screening and 70 ultrasounds, being the elderly and the victims of the armed conflict subjects of priority assistance.
The children enjoyed spaces of well-being and healthy recreation with recreational activities. Meanwhile, the Association Mujeres Costureras of the village of Rocha, received fabrics to carried out sewing works.
Meanwhile, the Movistar Foundation announced the implementation of virtual reality and by the National Learning Service – SENA, the different education and entrepreneurship services were offered to the inhabitants.
The inhabitants of this village expressed their gratitude to all the participating organizations, recognizing the determined commitment, which contributed to the transformation of the social fabric and the strengthening of the productive sector in this Caribbean region.
The activity was carried out in coordination with the Municipality of Arjona, the Food Bank of Cartagena, the Council of Black Communities of the village of Rocha, the Command to Support the Mission of Cartagena, the Office of Naval Incorporation, the Foundation Coopservir, the Foundation Movistar, the Foundation of Women and Reconciliation For Peace, the Foundation States, Hydrate S. A, Ice Iglu, the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing – ICBF, Recreations and Games BYR, the Secretariat of the Victims of the Governor of Bolivar, the National Service of Learning – SENA, Super Giros and the University of Cartagena.
