The illegal merchandise would have an approximate cost of 45 million dollars in the international illegal market.
Units of the Colombian Navy and the Colombian Aerospace Force dealt three resounding blows against criminal organizations serving drug trafficking in the Colombian Caribbean. As a result of these control operations, 1,342 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride were found by troops.
The first operation was carried out in the vicinity of Tintipán Island, the Archipelago of San Bernardo, where units of the Coast Guard Station of Coveñas with the support of an aircraft of the Colombian Aerospace Force, detected a suspicious ship sailing in the area. The crew, noticing the work of the authorities, looked for a beach to leave the boat and fled the place, leaving the boat abandoned. During the review, 21 sacks were found by troops containing 526 packages apparently of cocaine hydrochloride.
In the second operation carried out conducted by Coast Guard units of the Caribbean Naval Force and units of the Colombian Aerospace Force, a Go Fast type ship was detected sailing at high speeds near the municipality of Uribia - La Guajira, which was transporting 736 kilograms of drugs, distributed in 22 sacks. During the operation, two Dominican citizens who were crewing the boat were arrested.
Finally, in a third operation against drug trafficking, Urabá Coast Guard units, in coordination with a coastal ship of the Caribbean Naval Force, found 79 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, which were transported by two people on board a ship that was sailing suspiciously in El Sapzurro, Acandí - Chocó department.
The material found was submitted to the Approved Preliminary Test resulting in a positive result for 1,342 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
The arrested personnel and the material found during the aforementioned operations were put into custody of the authorities.
With these findings, criminal organizations at the service of international narcotics trafficking are directly hit and their ability to coerce civilians. In the same, more than 45 million dollars will not enter their criminal finances thanks to the decisive operation of the Colombian Military Forces.
