This activity was attended by 41 health professionals of the Misión País Foundation, Colombia Solidaria and Santa Alianza.
Approximately six tons of humanitarian aid were distributed during the activity.
It was possible to benefit the indigenous communities of Copomá Perea, Durapdur, Changpien Tordó, Las Delicias, Pangalá.
Fulfilling the institutional commitment to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life and comprehensive development in the ethnic communities of the Colombian Pacific, the Colombian Navy and the National Army led a Development Support Activity in Munguidó, municipality of Litoral del San Juan (Department of Chocó).
During this activity, medical services were provided in optometry, internal medicine, dentistry, gynecology, psychology, speech therapy, dermatology, pediatrics, general medicine and vaccination, as well as recreational activities.
In addition, pediatric growth and development consultations, and talks on social work, prevention of illegal recruitment, domestic violence and prevention of sexual abuse were carried out. Medicines, school kits, donations, masks, glasses and clothing were distributed.
In the framework of this activity, a child with health complications due to an inguinal hernia was evacuated; he required emergency medical assistance. So the Navy of Colombia had a helicopter Bell 412 and moved with his family to the port of Buenaventura, where he was waited for an ambulance to go to the Health Establishment in which he was taken to a medical centre of the city for his care and recovery.
Once more, the Military Forces of Colombia, confirm their commitment to the communities living in the Colombian Pacific, and will continue doing activities that contribute to the wellbeing of communities, the strengthening of democracy and good governance in order to improve the territory in the framework of the Acceleration Plan of Unified action of the State.
