The Colombian Air Force carried out an urgent aeromedical mission to assist an eight-year-old Raizal infant who was facing a complex health situation, with an abdominal injury that required immediate assistance and had to be surgically intervened.
The transfer was led by the Caribbean Air Group, in coordination with the National Personnel Recovery Center - CENRP, being possible thanks to the Institution's specialized team of health professionals, who provided the patient with care.
Taking into account the urgency of the transfer from Providencia to San Andrés, the C-208 Caravan aircraft was arranged, taking into account the biomedical systems provided by the aircraft, as well as in this case the supplemental oxygen required by the patient.
The infant was given in stable condition to an ambulance at the Gustavo Rojas Pinilla Airport on the Island of San Andrés, which was ready to transfer him to the departmental health institution, in order to fulfill the mission, protecting the lives of citizens.
