The Colombian Air Force carried out the priority aeromedical transfer of a 7-year-old minor from the municipality of M谩laga to Bucaramanga, in the department of Santander, after suffering several injuries during the accident of a school bus that occurred on Tuesday, March 22 in the village San Andr茅s, in the department of Santander.
The minor, who was accompanied by her mother during the aeromedical transfer, presented multiple traumas that put her life at risk. After the coordination with the National Center for Personnel Recovery-CENRP and the Air Combat Command No.1, a Casa C-295 aircraft configured as an ambulance, took off of the military ramp of the CATAM Military Transport Air Command to make the timely transfer of the patient, after being stabilized and being in the minimum conditions necessary to be transported in a pressurized ambulance aircraft without risking her good physical condition.
During the flight, the medical staff kept the minor's vital signs stable and controlled until she was given to her health care institution in the city of Bucaramanga for treatment by specialists.
In this way, the Colombian Air Force once again deploys its wings of hope to reach any place in the national territory with the purpose of saving lives, no matter how difficult the condition is, in compliance with the permanent commitment to work for the safety and well-being of Colombians.
