The presence of the Army and the Police in the villages seeks to guarantee the mobility and protection of the communities. As part of this strategy it was possible to neutralize three criminals from organized armed groups.
In military operations, troops of the National Army, in coordination with the Colombian Air Force, with the support of the National Police, the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation and following the recommendations issued in early warning No. 029 of 2018, neutralized in military operations two individuals and captured another, who would be members of the Edwin Rom谩n V谩squez Valle substructure, of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.
The operation counted on the information provided by the Civic Participation Network. It was carried out in the Alto el Silencio sector, hamlet las Ara帽as, in the municipality of Ituango, Antioquia, where Army soldiers engaged combat with armed groups and neutralized these three criminals.
These individuals would be frightening the community, carrying out forced recruitment activities, controlling the production of illegal rents and the mobility of narcotic drugs, as well as the planting of minefields in the area.
During the operation, the man, identified by the judicial authorities as alias Lucho, was wounded and received first aid by the combat nurses in accordance with the human rights and international humanitarian law. This individual was subsequently put into custody of the authorities, who ordered prison measure for the crimes of conspiracy to commit crimes and illegal use of uniforms.
As it could be established, these individuals would respond to alias El Perro, third ringleader of that armed substructure, who planned to carry out attacks against civilians and the Security forces.
