Those captured were put into custody of the authorities for the crime of illegal exploitation of mining deposits and other materials.
The inter-institutional and coordinated work carried out during 2018 with the Attorney General's Office has contributed to carried out military operations against the illegal exploitation of mining deposits, protecting natural resources that are indiscriminately damaged by these illegal activities that violate existing regulations.
In an operation conducted by troops of the Mechanized Cavalry Group No. 1 'General José Miguel Silva Plazas' and Judicial Police CTI (Technical Investigations Corps)-Guateque against illegal mining, in Ciguique, rural area of the municipality of Sutatenza, in the department of Boyacá, they caught in flagrante delicto of the illegal exploitation of mining deposit and other materials six individuals who carried out illicit activities in a coal mine, breaking the legal requirements and contaminating with toxic material natural resources and the environment.
At the end of the operation, six people were put into custody of the authorities for the illegal extraction of coal. Those captured and the material were put into custody of the 40th Office Environmental Prosecutor.
