In a military ceremony presided over by Colonel Jorge Alexis González Zúñiga, Head of the Intelligence Department of the Honduran Air Force -FAH- and Colonel Juan Rivera, Officer Commander of the United States Cooperation in Honduras, the graduation of 10 NCOs of the FAH was carried out, who after one month of training obtained the certification in Technical Maintenance and Flight Crewmember in the UH-1H USCAP Team, as well as training on the T53-L-13B engine.
The Honduran non-commissioned officers were prepared by a Colombian Air Force men, including the Sub-Chief Technician Quintero Flórez Jorge, the first technician Guerrero España Gustavo and first technician Sánchez Ruano Óscar, who have been supporting the trainings, contributing with the Plan of Cooperation conducted by Colombia and the United States for the countries of Central America and the Caribbean, a program, which, since 2012 to date, has trained more than 19 thousand military and police members of these countries.
The Honduran military satisfactorily completed the theoretical and practical requirements in the UH-1H helicopter, with 160 hours where they acquired knowledge about all the systems of these aircrafts and their maintenance. The new flight technicians received the certificate and badge that allows them to be part of the crew.
In this way, the School of Helicopters for the Military Forces reaffirms its leadership in the training of helicopter crews in Latin America, directly supporting the security and the struggle against transnational crimes to achieve peace in each of our countries partners.
