In a decisive coordinated operation conducted by the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) - Norte de Santander, and the Gaula of the National Police, Mrs. Yajaira Castro P茅rez was rescued, who remained deprived of her freedom since the last two of April, when she was kidnapped, allegedly by members of the Organized Armed Group - GAO, 'Los Pelusos'.
The important maneuver was executed in the village El Tabiro in the municipality of San Cayetano, in the department of Norte de Santander, where the soldiers of the Unified operation Group for Personal Freedom of the Thirtieth Brigade of the National Army arrived, with the Anti-kidnapping and anti-extortion unit of the National Police, to find the whereabouts of the 33-year-old.
She is mother of two small children and she is daughter of a businessman of the region. The kidnapping occurred when she was traveling with one of his relatives to a coal mine in the municipality of San Cayetano where he was intercepted by eight heavily armed men, who said that they would take her only for two hours. Later they demanded more than 1 500 million pesos to release her.
In the framework of the campaign 'I do not pay, I denounce' of the Military Gaula, they started a military intelligence work to track the whereabouts of the woman and her captors. A lock plan was launched in rural areas and in the urban areas of the municipality where she was abducted, especially in the municipalities of El Zulia, Cucuta, Puerto Santander, Villa del Rosario and Los Patios.
Thanks to this rigorous work in the region, the soldiers execute the rescue by intercepting a vehicle where the victim was transported by five individuals who were captured. The individuals had in their possession two rifles, three magazines 9 millimeters and a grenade of fragmentation.
The men and the elements found were put into custody of the Fourth Specialized Prosecutor's Office of the Military Gaula of Norte de Santander.
