The criminal has a red Interpol notice for drug trafficking and links with Mexican cartels to send narcotics to the United States.
Troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Cundinamarca, attached to Brigade 13 of the National Army, in coordination with the Military Gaula of Caquetá and the Attorney General's Office, capture in the urban area of the municipality of San Vicente del Caguán, an individual known as 'Canas', who was required by the judicial authorities of the Eastern District of New York through an Interpol red notice.
According to the information provided by the authorities between 2015 and 2018, alias ‘Canas’ belonged to a drug trafficking organization that committed crimes in Colombia and transported hundreds of kilos of cocaine to Central America for its final destination in the United States. In May 2016 ‘Canas’ and other accomplices allied with another Mexican organization committed to drug trafficking, agreed the production and transportation of large quantities of cocaine for sale in the same country.
After a finding made by Costa Rican authorities, the individual, today captured by the Military Gaula in Colombia, was identified and was declared wanted by the US justice; he had already been found guilty of carrying and marketing of drugs in 1990.
