The two individuals had impersonated members of the residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-r), and were demanding a lot of money in exchange for not attacking on the life of the victims and that of their relatives.
The Twelfth Brigade of the National Army, through the Caquetá Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), in operations aimed at counteracting the criminal phenomenon of extortion, in an inter-institutional work with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, managed to capture two individuals for the crime of extortion, in a rural area of the municipality of Belén de los Andaquíes, in the department of Caquetá.
These are José Nelson Herrera Vélez, said to be alias Brayan, and Francy Antonio Bedoya Herrera, known by the alias Dumar, who were surprised at the time that they were receiving 80 million pesos in cash from a rancher in the region, intimidated by telephone.
The operation was carried out in a rural area of the municipality of Belén de los Andaquíes, where the troops, thanks to intelligence work, captured the two individuals and capture them. Those captured who claimed to be part of a residual GAO were put into custody of the Local Prosecutor's Office 19 delegated to the Military Gaula.
