Those arrested would be involved in crimes such as extortion, kidnapping, association to commit crimes, forced disappearance, manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms and others.
In 135 tactical missions conducted by the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) units and the Attorney General's Office, it was possible the arrest of 118 individuals who commit crimes such as extortion in different areas of the country of which 7 correspond to the Residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-r), 38 to organized crime groups, 13 to organized armed groups and 60 to common criminality.
Among the 47 arrests for kidnapping, there are 3 members of the ELN, 7 of the GAO-r Residual Organized Armed Group, 19 of organized crime groups, 4 of organized armed groups, 14 of common criminality and 62 more arrests for other crimes.
In the same period, 4 citizens who had been kidnapped were rescued (1 from the Residual Organized Armed Group GAO-r, 1 form and organized gang and 2 from common criminality) and 7 more people were released under pressure of the troops (2 of them were at the hands of organized armed groups, 2 of organized crime groups and 3 of common criminality groups).
According to the denunciations made by the victims' families to the national hotline 147 and the immediate response of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) to plan arrests against extortion, people have stopped paying $3,772,989,500 COP for this crime, and in the same way 32 criminal groups that commit crimes such as extortion and kidnapping have been dismantled.
With these results, the activities of criminal organizations are significantly hit, while peace of mind is restored to the community.
