In a coordinated operation conducted by the Caribbean Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office No.43, 381 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride were found by troops, apparently belonging to the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.
After an investigation work product of intelligence and interinstitutional work, these units find in the municipality of Riohacha, in the department de La Guajira, a truck whose interior had hidden, among a load of wheat flour, rectangular packages with white solid substance corresponding to cocaine hydrochloride.
According to the investigation, the 381 kilos of Cocaine Hydrochloride were intended to be taken from Colombia to the United States for a cost of 10.8 million dollars and later to Europe for approximately 20.8 million dollars.
With the finding of this merchandise, which is presumed to belong to the GAO Clan del Golfo, it was possible to weaken a source of valuable financing for this criminal structure, while strengthening security and territorial control in this part of Colombian geography.
