- During July, August and September 2020, 364 captures were made, 330 for extortion and 34 for kidnapping.
- The military Gaula (anti-extortion and anti-kidnapping group) have conducted 235 tactical missions against organized armed groups, weakening their criminal activity.
In the last quarter of 2020, the military GAULA managed eight fully planned and decisive rescues, which made possible the return to freedom of citizens who were kidnapped by organized armed groups and common crime.
As for the releases, thanks to the immediate operation and pressure of military Gaula, troops obtained 12 releases; people won鈥檛 pay $1,975,000,000 million pesos for the problem of kidnapping.
During the same period, 330 captures for extortion were made and 35 extortions were thwarted. For this crime the Colombians stopped paying $998,000,000 million pesos.
It is important to note that the majority of the operations were carried out in coordination with the Judicial Police and the Office of the Attorney-General of the nation, with the dismantling of criminal groups serving organized armed groups and the safe and sound return of citizens to their homes.
