In the middle of a mangrove zone, the Colombian Navy and the National Army found and subsequently destroyed a semi-submarine valued at about a million dollars that would belong to the Residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-R), Sexto.
Guided by intelligence information, troops of the River Navy Infantry Battalion No.24, belonging to the Pacific Naval Force and the Anti-Drug Battalion No.2 of the National Army, carried out a complex and complete joint operation, which had the participation of more than 30 soldiers, who, on board maritime and river units, reached the zone known as Punta Aj铆, on the Naya River.
Already in the area, troops found the blue semi-submarine 30 meters long and three meters wide, capable of transporting up to eight thousand kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride. Inside it was made of a complete and modern diesel propulsion system.
In addition, 180 gallons of diesel-type gasoline were seized, so it is presumed that this ship would be ready to be loaded with illicit substances and then transported to Central America.
After completing the judicial proceedings, the ship was destroyed in this area, under controlled conditions.
