The action took place in the middle of a firefight in the rural area of Samaná, Caldas, where members of the Military Forces arrived in search of alias Camilo and alias Chatárra, who managed to flee.
In development of operations that seek to continue weakening the logistical and criminal networks that commit crimes in the departments of Antioquia and Caldas, the Military Forces the recovery of a minor who had been forcibly recruited by members of the GAO Clan del Oriente.
The incident took place in the middle of a combat in which members of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Oriente, with the support of the Prosecutor's Office, were carrying out a military operation against alias Camilo and alias Chatárra, the two alleged ringleaders of that criminal structure. As it has been possible to establish, these individuals were in this area, hiding in a humble house fleeing of the operation conducted by the authorities in the eastern region of Antioquia which seeks to arrest them.
Although the two individuals ran away when they were overwhelmed by the members of the National Army, the minor was recovered in the operation. An AK47 rifle, a 9mm caliber submachinegun, a pistol, a grenade, ammunition of different calibers, military accessory material, communications equipment, two motorcycles and drugs, which were presumably consumed by these criminals, were in the same way found there.
The recovered minor was put into custody of the authorities for the restoration of his rights.
Operations are continuing in the area against the so-called GAO Clan del Oriente and its ringleaders for whom the authorities are providing a reward of up to 40 million pesos each. That is why the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the East has put into service of citizens the National Toll-free Line 147, where, with absolute reserve, people will be able to denounce the work of these individuals.
