Once again, the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, the terrorist structure of Gentil Duarte, is putting the lives of the civilians in this region at risk, flagrantly violating Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.
The use of illegal means and methods of warfare is criminalized in the Colombian Penal Code (Act No. 599 of 2000).
Some residents of the sector were at the scene of the events, with the aim of obstructing the process of controlled destruction of this area prepared with explosive devices.
Citizens who are part of the Network of Civic participation in this area of San Jose del Guaviare, tired of the operation of the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, and not wanting to re-live acts of violence as those suffered in the time of the extinct Farc, provided information to the troops of the Joint Task Force Omega, on a mined area made up of a 12 volt battery with an antenna and a cylindrical container of 40 kilos.
The troops of the land and river components of the Specific Command of the East, CEO, in a military operation and using the search conducted by the team of Explosives and Demolitions, EXDE, find the prepared area with the explosives, 20 meters of a house in the region and near the way that connects Puerto Cachicamo to the urban area of San Jose del Guaviare.
The minefield was destroyed in controlled conditions, following the respective protocols for this procedure, safeguarding the lives of people and the house.
The discovery and explosion of the mined area was reported in a timely manner to the Attorney General's Office in San Jos茅 del Guaviare and to the Human Rights liaison of the Municipal Mayor. In the same way, communication was established with the delegated for the people, who did not respond.
The Joint Task Force Omega vehemently denounces this type of insane operations, with which the GAO-r terrorists seek to violate the rights of individuals, and categorically rejects the intention to hit the troops with the installation of the explosive devices that caused a crater of one meter deep and two meters wide, due to the amount of explosive and destructive capacity.
