During the operations, three individuals were arrested, among them alias Guama, ringleader of the Network of Support of Residual Structures, in charge of the marketing of coca base paste.
A new blow to the structures of drug trafficking was inflicted by the Colombian Navy in joint operations with the National Army, the Colombian Air Force and coordinated with the National Police, in the departments of Meta, Caquetá, Putumayo and Guaviare, where they found and neutralized 36 laboratories used for the production of coca base paste, in addition to the arrest of three individuals for the alleged crimes of manufacturing or carrying drugs, association to commit crimes aggravated for purposes of extortion, drug trafficking and homicide.
Within these structures were found by troops 1,047 kilograms of coca base paste, 2,484 kilograms of macerated coca leaf, 6,963 kilograms of solid precursors and 12,230 gallons of liquid precursors, apparently belonging to the Organized Groups that commit crimes in the region.
During the findings, three individuals were arrested, one of them known by the alias Guama, ringleader of the Red de Apoyo de Estructuras Residuales – RAER, in charge of the commercialization of coca base paste of the residual Organized Armed Group - Estructura Miller Perdomo, in the department of Caquetá. The man who had been part of this criminal structure for four years was following direct orders from alias Cacique, the drug trafficking coordinator of this criminal structure.
The man escaped while he was, apparently, buying narcotics in a laboratory discovered and destroyed by the security forces in the municipality of Remolinos del Caguán, Caquetá. Colombian Navy Intelligence identified the individual and immediately began an intense operation, where he was finally arrested in a residential area of the city of Florencia-Caquetá. Alias Guama had an arrest warrant for the crimes of association to commit aggravated crimes for purposes of extortion, drug trafficking and homicide.
The other two arrested individuals were caught in flagrante delicto, in the municipality El Piñalito, in the municipality of Retorno - Guaviare, while carrying out illicit activities of production of coca base paste in one of the laboratories destroyed by the Military Forces.
