Within the framework of a security operation, units of the Colombian Navy, added to the Joint Task Force for Stabilization Consolidation Hercules, detected three boats manned by alleged members of the Second Marquetalia, structure Alfonso Cano, in the Las Pampas sector, in the municipality of Mosquera - Nariño, where an armed combat took place and resulted in the arrest of four individuals and the finding of two fiberglass boats, loaded with war materiel, among other elements.
The individuals who were on the boats, noticing the work of the military personnel in the area, initiated an armed battle, the effective and quick reaction of the crew members of the Navy Infantry Brigade No.4, countered the threat and arrested the criminals, one of them seriously injured.
During the inspection of the ships, five rifles, two pistols, 32 M16 magazines, two magazines for nine-millimeter pistol, six carrier vests magazines, about five thousand units of ammunition of different calibers, 12 communications radios and eight cell phones were found by troops.
In order to safeguard life, the injured individual was immediately evacuated via helicopter to a hospital in the municipality of Tumaco - Nariño. On the recommendation of the specialists the man was taken to the city of Pasto, where he later died.
The three arrested individuals and the material found were taken to the municipality of Tumaco - Nariño, to be put into custody of the judicial authorities to conduct the relevant procedures.
With this decisive blow, the criminal intentions of the members of the Second Marquetalia - Dissidents of the FARC, on the Pacific coast of Nariño, the selective homicides, collecting money from extortion and trafficking or production narcotics, are thwarted.
