These items did not have the transportation documents, nor the registry card; in the same way, the GPS finding equipment of the machinery was not turned on.
Through operations, framed within the Joint Strategic Campaign Plan Ayacucho -Tiempo 2- the Military Forces, found three backhoes along with different elements used for the illicit exploitation of mining deposits in the municipality of Santa Bárbara de Iscuandé, Nariño.
The result was possible thanks to the strength of the military operation of the troops of the Joint Task Force Hercules, who carry out control tasks and institutional work in the river arteries of the Colombian Pacific coast, focused on the damage to the illegal activities of organized armed groups and the protection of the inhabitants.
The three backhoes were on board a flatbed, which was sailing on the Iscuandé River, being towed by an individual who did not have the regulatory documentation in accordance with Law 1242 of 2008, so it was immobilized to prevent its use in activities of illicit exploitation of mining deposits. This machine, apparently, would come from the city of Medellín, with false documents which led it to pass through various checkpoints of the authorities and thus be used in criminal activities.
With the finding of this machinery, the illegal finance system of the Western Bloc Jacobo Arenas structure 30 Rafael Aguilera is hit at approximately 2,280 million pesos. In the same way, it contributes significantly to the protection of the environment, especially of the tributaries that are polluted through these practices of illicit extraction of mining deposits.
No arrests were made during the operations. Meanwhile, the material was put into custody of the authorities in the framework of the Law.
The Joint Task Force Hercules, with all its units, ratifies its commitment to the conservation of the ecosystem and will continue to carry out military and search and river control operations over the rivers of the Colombian Pacific coast, to deny this space to organized armed groups, while inviting people to denounce illegal organizations at the service of illegal mining that cause irreparable damage to the environment.
