The illegal merchandise, apparently, would belong to the Clan del Golfo, and was going to be taken in a vehicle at a point of the Port and then sent by speedboats using illegal routes in the Atlantic Ocean.
In the framework of operations against the illicit activities of the different armed groups that commit crimes in the north of the country, the Military Forces again dealt a blow against drug trafficking in Barranquilla.
This is how members of the Military Forces of the Military Police Battalion No.2 of Colombian National Army, the Aerospace Force and the Prosecutor's Office, found 211 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride which was to be transported from a house north of the capital city of the department of Atlantico to the Port, to then be taken on Go Fast boats, bound for Central America, possibly to networks of the Sinaloa and Jalisco cartels.
The drug found, would be valued, according to the authorities, at more than seven million dollars.
This shipment would be part of the criminal structure of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, Manuel Jos茅 Gait谩n structure, which commits crimes in that area and profits illegally from this business, as well as from extortion of money.
No arrests were made, but intelligence efforts continue in the area with the aim of finding and arresting the members of this illegal group and thus continue to weaken its logistical and criminal structures.
This is the second shipment of a large amount of cocaine that was seized inside a house in a residential area of the city of Barranquilla. Already in March of this year, 400 kilos of cocaine were found by troops in a home in the Chiquinquir谩 neighborhood, where, apparently, a bunker of the Coste帽os criminal structure in the same way took place.
