The dismantled cocaine laboratory left profits in excess of 22,000 million pesos per month. The site shows serious environmental damage due to the indiscriminate dumping of chemicals into the soil and water sources, as well as deforestation due to illicit plantations.
Troops of the National Army, joint, coordinated and inter-agency with the Air Force, the Navy, the Police and the Prosecutor's office, as part of the Military and Police Campaign Agamenon, dismantle a laboratory in the municipality of San Pablo, in the municipality of San Pedro de Urab谩, Antioquia.
This area, bordering the Department of Cordoba, is strategic for the outflow of illicit income to coastal areas, for this reason, the National Army launched a complete operation to hit the finances of the Central substructure Turbo, of the organized armed group, Gao, Clan del Golfo, which commits crimes in this region.
At the site, accompanied by authorities, troops destroyed liquid and solid precursors used for the production of cocaine hydrochloride. This material would cost about 800 million pesos. The structure, hidden in the middle of the thick jungle, had the capacity to produce about three tons of drugs monthly, which were sent to the illegal market of Central and North America.
This is a powerful blow to the Criminal Finances of alias Otoniel, the ringleader of the GAO Clan del Golfo, which controls the drug trafficking routes in the departments of Antioquia and Cordoba.
