A chicken shed was delivered in Cartagena Del Chairá, Caquetá, to the Asociación Huertas y Hortalizas Orgánicas. The association is made up of women heads of household as well as women over 50 years old, who were selected by the Colombian Navy and the National Army, due to their condition of vulnerability since they did not have a job for the sustenance of their families.
This productive project conducted by the marines, soldiers and the Municipal Mayor, will give them the opportunity to obtain economic resources and in this way get ahead.
The formal delivery event of the chicken shed, held in the Alonso Gaitán neighborhood, was attended by: the First Lady of the municipality, Liliana Gutiérrez Flórez; Lieutenant Colonel of Navy Infantry Jorge Enrique González Orejuela, commander of the River Battalion No.31; major Oscar Javier Jiménez Medrano, commander (e) of the Land Operations Battalion No.1; and the secretary of government, Aristo Rodríguez Quesada.
The productive project started three months ago by the municipal administration, and the construction of the chicken shed was carried out for a week, with labor of marines and professional soldiers.
The military forces of Colombia and the Municipal Mayor's office, joined efforts to make real the dream of these 100 women. The institutionalism as a whole will continue to carry out this type of projects and works for the benefit of the most vulnerable communities of Cartagena del Chaira, Caquetá, as well as throughout the national territory.
