Thanks to an agreement signed by a major national brewing industry company, a bank of Brazilian origin based in Colombia, the Governorate in the department of Atlantico and the General Directorate of Military Health, the Military Forces will build a new mobile hospital that will operate in the facilities of the Cari University Hospital, in Barranquilla for the care and exclusive isolation of Covid-19 cases.
The new mobile hospital center, which will be provided by the allied companies with 50 beds and the equipment required for intermediate and basic care. It will operate with the support of the healthcare personnel of the department of Atlantico and, once the health emergency is overcome, much of the structure and equipment of the mobile hospital will go to the service of the Health Subsystem of the Military Forces where required.
The facilities of the field hospital, built on the parking lot of one of the most complex hospitals in the Caribbean region, are expected to be ready on May 11 and it will help to alleviate the possible pressure on the Colombian health system in the frame of the pandemic.
To date, the Military Forces are working at full speed on the adjustments of the terrain, the transportation of equipment and the construction of the structure to make this mobile hospital one of the best centers to face the emergency.
