In coordinated operations conducted by Colombian Navy Units and the National Police, it was possible to seize three kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and the capture of a Colombian individual, in San Andrés.
The drug was transported in three packages that were inside a backpack in a boat called Two Face, which was detected by the Traffic Control and Maritime Surveillance Tower of San Andrés while it was transiting in waters near the coast of the archipelago.
The individuals, when they notice the presence of the authorities in the area, looked for a beach in the north of the island, where some suspicious passengers, who were transported in the boat, jumped into the sea and escaped by land to the coast.
Immediately, Coast Guard crew members alerted units of the San Andrés Police Department, achieving control of the passengers, escorting the boat to the San Andrés Coast Guard Station, where the inspection procedure allowed to seize three packages with the illegal drug.
The material found and the captain of the boat were put into custody of officials of the Technical Investigation Corps -CTI- of the Attorney General's Office, who carried out the Approved Preliminary Identification Test -PIPH-, leaving a positive result for cocaine hydrochloride.
