Within the framework of the Unified operation of the State, the Colombian Navy and Colombian National Army, in coordination with government organizations and different foundations, carried out a Development Support Activity that benefited about 800 inhabitants of the Medio Baudó region, in the department of Chocó.
At the dock of the Special District of Buenaventura, in the Valle del Cauca, the River Patrol Boat ARC Jorge Moreno set sail with 47 people, including military personnel and volunteer health professionals, to the village of San José de Querá, on the banks of the Baudó River, where they arrived at after 25 hours of navigation, to provide care in physiotherapy, general medicine, dentistry, pediatrics, psychology, oral rehabilitation, social work, insertion of subdermal planning implants and distribution of food supplements, school kits, food baskets, footwear and presents.
It should be noted that, during the weeks of planning this activity, the Colombian Navy and Colombian National Army carried out maintenance, cleaning and beautification activities, not only of the place where the services would be carried out, but of several spaces and common areas of the village, to invite its inhabitants to enjoy healthy recreation initiatives and generate awareness of the importance of taking care of their municipality. In the same way, the School of San José de Querá received maintenance with paint in the classrooms and veneer in its bathrooms, to which six sinks and nine toilets were donated and installed.
This comprehensive wellbeing activity was made possible thanks to the coordination of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.22 of the Colombian Navy and the Ground Operations Battalion No.26 of Colombian National Army, attached to the Joint Task Force Titan, with the Government of the department of Chocó, the municipal Mayor's Office, the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing - ICBF, the Professional Officers of Naval Reserve - COAMI, the restaurant Carbones y Parrilla and the foundations Ángeles por Colombia, San Luis Life, Alianza Solidaria, Red Vida, Lejaim, Andrés Bedoya, Fe en Colombia and Tejiendo Redes, who used their human talent and logistical resources on the benefit of the inhabitants of the department of Chocó.
