With extortion calls, threats and pressure, the alleged criminals demanded 50 million pesos from a rancher in exchange for not attacking his life or that of his family.
In operations framed in the Ayacucho Joint Campaign Plan against extortion, the Military Forces arrested five alleged members of the GAO Clan del Golfo while receiving the payment of money from one of their victims.
This operation occurred in the rural area of Bosconia to the northwest of the department of C茅sar.
The perpetrators were demanding a million size sum of money in exchange for not taking any criminal action. That's when units of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) arrived at the place and arrested the five alleged members of the Francisco Jos茅 Morelo Pe帽ate structure of the GAO Clan del Golfo at the time they already had the money in their hands.
Among the five arrested is alias Zaisa who would be one of the regional ringleaders of that organized armed group. In the same way alias Gustavo and alias Jincho, who according to reports of several merchants, transporters and ranchers of Bosconia, El Copey and El tr谩nsito, would have threatened them demanding money.
In the event, communications equipment and two motorcycles were found by troops, which were put into custody of the authorities.
The five individuals were taken into custody before a judge who endorsed the legality of the arrest and ordered their detention in prison in Valledupar for the crime of aggravated extortion.
The Military Forces continue to conduct the prevention campaign Yo no pago, yo denuncio with which they seek to provide tools to merchants, ranchers, transporters and people so that they know how to react if they are victims of some kind of extortion.
