In the operation it was in the same way possible to find important war material and military accessories.
In a coordinated operation conducted by the Colombian Navy, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office in the municipality of Norosí, in southern Bolívar, two alleged members of the Luis Fernando Gutiérrez substructure of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo del Golfo, were arrested.
They are alias Patico, 29, and alias Yimi, 24, who are said to be responsible for collecting money of the victims. These individuals were the object of arrest warrants for the crimes of extortion, homicide and the manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.
The individuals were arrested during two search warrants on two of the houses, in the village El Polvillo, municipality Mina Brisa, municipality of Norosí, by troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) – Bolívar, of the Navy of Colombia, and units of the SIJÍN - Bolívar, of the National Police, who during the search of the places found two rifles, AK47, a rifle M16, 12 magazines for rifles, 346 cartridges of different calibers, material of accessories for the exclusive use of the Military Forces and doctrine material referring to the Autodefensas Gaitanistas de Colombia.
These men would be conducting crimes in the region La Mojana and in the department of Bolívar. Alias Jimmy would be in charge of controlling illicit plantations, in addition to coordinating and executing the collection of money from ranchers, merchants and miners in the municipalities of Barranco de Loba, Tiquisio and Norosí. While alias Patico would be conducting functions of gathering narcotics and observation activities over the Military Forces, so that with these arrests a significant result is achieved against this substructure, contributing to the reduction of crimes that hit the tranquility of civilians.
The individuals and the materials were given to the specialized 155th Prosecutor's Office of Barranquilla (Atlántico).
The operations of the Military Forces against this Organized Armed Group have been decisive, in which, so far this year, in the department of Bolívar, 93 alleged members of the GAO Clan del Golfo have been arrested.
