Within the framework of two joint and coordinated operations of the Colombian Navy, the National Army and the National Police, within the framework of the Intervention plan in Buenaventura, an alleged member of the Organized Gang La Local was arrested. It was in the same way possible to apprehend a minor and find a weapon and ammunition, in the Special District of Buenaventura.
Troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Buenaventura of the Colombian Navy, of the Battalion of Urban Special Forces No.3 of the Army and the National Police Intervention and Counterterrorism Unit of the Police, arrested in the locality six of Buenaventura alias Zarco, alleged ringleader of the Los Espartanos, a faction of the Organized Gang La Local, a criminal structure under the criminal command of alias Mapaya, responsible for kidnappings, extortions to different productive groups, selective homicides, micro-trafficking and forced displacement.
In the second operation in the siete locality of Buenaventura, a pistol, a magazine and 84 cartridges of different calibers were found by troops; those elements were hidden in a bag under a house. Apparently, this weapon would belong to the faction Los Espartanos of the Organized Gang La Local, reducing its criminal capacity to attack against the life and good physical condition of civilians and Military Forces.
In the area, a minor was apprehended who had allegedly escaped five months ago of the Buenaventura Transitional Center, and would be linked to a legal process for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition aggravated in heterogeneous competition with qualified and aggravated theft.
The arrested man and the material found were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office for prosecution for the alleged crimes of aggravated homicide, manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories or ammunition and association to commit crimes. Meanwhile, the minor was put into custody of the First Family Court of the Judicial Circuit of Buenaventura.
