The firmness of the operations carried out jointly and coordinately by the Colombian Navy, Colombian National Army and the National Police, resulted in the arrest of alias El Indio alleged ringleader of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.
In the operation that led to the arrest of this ringleader, which was carried out in Bojayá - Chocó department, two other members of this criminal organization were arrested.
Alias El Indio, alleged head of finance of the Pablo José Montalvo substructure, is accused of carrying out the collection of money from extortion against merchants, transporters and ranchers, he also coordinated the drug trafficking routes for the transport of drugs to Central and North America through the Pacific, as well as the entry of chemical precursors for the production of cocaine in the municipalities of Bojayá, Riosucio and Carmen del Darién (Chocó).
At the place of the arrest, 24 kilograms of coca base paste, communication equipment, ammunition of different calibers and material and military accessories were found by troops.
Alias El Indio, who had an arrest warrant for the crime of association to commit aggravated crimes, along with the two arrested and the material found, were put into custody of the authorities for prosecution.
